Training
Glider and Power Pilot
Are you interested in a chance to become a glider or power pilot? Possibly achieve this goal for free at 16 or 17 yrs old? Air cadets gives you that chance!
Survival Training
We teach survival skills you can utilize any time you are in the wilderness. Lighting fires, how to use a snare and build shelter out of the supplies around you in mother nature!
Leadership
As a cadet, you learn the basics of how to lead a group. You are mentored through your years and once you are in year 4 and 5, you become the cadet in charge of classes, activities or even the Squadron!
Physical Fitness
We do monthly sports in the cadet program. Physical fitness is important to everyone. We do an assessment 3 times during the year, however we also participate in competitions for Volleyball and Basketball.
Biathlon/ Marksmanship
You have the opportunity to participate in a safe range situation. 644 Air cadets shoot the Daisy Air rifle once trained on a active range.
We also training and participate in the Biathlon competition. Cadets will run and shoot for a chance to attend provincials.
Drill
Drill is an essential part of the cadet program. You learn the aspects and importance of certain drill maneuvers, and have the opportunity to join the Drill Team, to compete against others in the province!
Meet Friends
All of the training above is fun, however nothing beats meeting like minded people and becoming life long friends. Where else can you meet people from all regions? Cadets provides that opportunity to have fun, learn in a safe environment, and meet others.
